Our Story
Hi, I'm Sonja, founder of Belbon Oodles
Nestled in the beautiful Biddaddaba Valley in Queensland, Belbon Oodles is where my dogs and puppies are raised on acreage as part of my family. My passion has always been to breed healthy, well-rounded companion dogs with exceptional temperaments that will become cherished members of their families.
Every litter is carefully planned with a strong focus on health, temperament and lifelong wellbeing. All of my breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, and my puppies are raised using the Badass Breeder curriculum, incorporating Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), confidence-building, grooming preparation and age-appropriate enrichment to give them the very best start in life.
I spent five years as a professional dog groomer, including owning my own grooming salon. I also own a manufacturing business that designs and builds custom dog grooming trailers for groomers across Australia. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of canine health, behaviour, coat care and the importance of early handling and socialisation.
I believe learning never stops. I regularly attend educational seminars and industry events and have proudly been part of the support team behind the first two Breedacon conferences, while helping prepare for the third. Staying connected with other ethical breeders and industry professionals allows me to continually refine my breeding program and provide the very best for my dogs and puppy families.

The Story Behind Belbon Oodles
Bella and Bonnie were more than just my foundation girls—they shaped the values that continue to guide my breeding program today. Their beautiful temperaments, loyalty and loving natures reminded me that breeding is about so much more than producing puppies. It's about raising healthy, confident companions that enrich the lives of the families who welcome them home.
Today, Bonnie continues to enjoy life as the much-loved matriarch of Belbon Oodles, while Bella is living her very best life with my auntie and uncle, where she is adored as a cherished family member. Although their breeding days are behind them, their legacy lives on in every puppy we raise and in the values that remain at the heart of Belbon Oodles.
Every great story has a beginning, and ours started with two very special girls—Bella and Bonnie.
When it came time to choose a name for my breeding program, I wanted something that reflected where it all began. By combining Bel from Bella and Bon from Bonnie, Belbon Oodles was born.
